Tomorrow, on Tuesday 23.08.2011, in the presence of the Minister of Regional Development and Public Works Rosen Plevneliev, Deputy Minister Lilyana Pavlova and the Mayor of Sofia Yordanka Fandakova will sign a grant contract under the project entitled Integrated Urban Transport in Sofia. 

The signing ceremony will take place at 10.30 a.m. on Oborishte Street before the junction with G.S. Rakovski Street.  

The project will be implemented within Priority Axis 1 Sustainable and Integrated Urban Development, operation 1.5 Systems for Sustainable City Transport under Operational Programme Regional Development 2007-2013. 

The total amount disbursed is 62 million EUR, the grant amount being 50 million EUR.  

The project envisages the purchase of 50 new trolleys, the repair of the tramway track along Bulgaria Boulevard and the building of a tramway track from Seminariyata to Darvenitsa. In addition 600 electronic remotely controlled passenger information boards and a pilot smart system of traffic control giving priority to public transport vehicles will be installed.
