Completion of the evaluation or project fiches under scheme BG161PO001/3.2-01/2010 Support for the organization of events of regional and national scope and impact
The evaluation committee completed its work under scheme BG161PO001/3.2-01/2010 Support for the organization of events of regional and national scope and impact implemented under Operational Programme Regional Development (OPRD) with the Ministry of Culture being the specific beneficiary.
Scheme BG161PO001/3.2-01/2010 Support for the organization of events of regional and national scope and impact was announced in June 2010. On 25.02.2011 a Mid-term Framework Investment Programme of the Ministry of Culture was approved under the scheme and the allocated budget is 6 238 348.62 BGN.
With Decision No РД-02-14-1771/ 29.08.2011 6 project fiches from the scope of the Mid-term Framework Investment Programme were approved for financing in the total amount of 5 504 882.89 BGN. The projects are targeted at the organization of events of regional and national scope and impact, contributing to the development of sustainable cultural tourism, diversification of tourism supply and increased benefits from tourism. Festivals, open-air events, folk events, the presentation of local/regional traditions, cuisine, crafts, etc. will be supported as they contribute to the diversification and marketing of the tourist product. The events will be held in various regions throughout the Republic of Bulgaria. Events are planned at the well-developed tourist destinations which will support the diversification of the traditional tourism supply; events will be also organized outside the most popular tourist destinations which shall contribute to a more balanced distribution of the benefits from tourism. Conditions will be created via a number of festivals in seven regions for the nomination at the end of 2012 of the Bulgarian city which will be the European Capital of Culture in 2012.
Decision No РД-02-14-1771/ 29.08.2011 of the Head of the Managing Authority of OPRD for the grant amount disbursed under this scheme has been published in the section Evaluated Projects.
