A new scheme is opened under Regional Development Operational Programme entitled BG161PO001/1.2-01/2011 “Support of energy efficiency measures in multifamily residential buildings”

The Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works announced on 18.07.2011 a direct grant procedure under Operational Programme Regional Development 2007-2013, Priority Axis 1 “Sustainable and Integrated Urban Development”, Operation 1.2. “Housing Policy”, scheme BG161PO001/1.2-01/2011 “Support of energy efficiency measures in multifamily residential buildings” with the specific beneficiary being Directorate Housing Policy with the Ministry.

This scheme aims at:

• providing better living conditions to the residents in multifamily residential buildings in 36 urban centres;
• implementing energy efficiency measures in multifamily residential buildings in 36 urban centres.

The scheme is implemented with the financial contribution of the European Union via the European Regional Development Fund. The project will be implemented in 36 urban centres throughout the Republic of Bulgaria in compliance with OPRD.

The specific beneficiary under this grant scheme is Directorate Housing Policy with the Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works which is responsible for the implementation of the housing policy in the Republic of Bulgaria.

Eligible activities:

• carrying out energy efficiency feasibility studies;
• implementation of energy efficiency measures in multi-family residential buildings (thermal insulation, changed windowpanes and doors, local installations and/or connections to heating and gas supply systems, etc.).

The total grant amount is 50 109 139,11 BGN.

Deadline for project proposals: 31 January 2012, 16:00 p.m.

The Guidelines for Applicants and the full set of documents have been approved by the Head of the MA of OPRD with order No РД-02-14-1532/18.07.2011.
